Title: Network Performance Analyst

Job Summary:
The Network Performance Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing network performance to ensure efficient and reliable connectivity across the organization's network infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of network protocols, performance measurement tools, and data analysis techniques. The Network Performance Analyst collaborates closely with network engineering teams to identify and resolve network performance issues and proactively improve network performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor network performance using various tools and techniques to identify potential bottlenecks, latency issues, and capacity constraints.
2. Analyze network performance data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
3. Collaborate with network engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues in a timely manner.
4. Conduct network performance tests and simulations to evaluate network capacity and performance under different scenarios.
5. Develop and maintain network performance monitoring and reporting systems to provide real-time insights into network performance.
6. Identify optimization opportunities and recommend network configuration changes or upgrades to improve performance.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network performance meets the requirements of new applications, systems, and technologies.
8. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in network performance analysis and apply them to enhance the organization's network infrastructure.
9. Prepare and present reports on network performance analysis findings to management and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven work experience as a Network Performance Analyst or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
4. Proficient in network performance monitoring tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, NetFlow, and SNMP-based monitoring systems.
5. Familiarity with network analysis methodologies, including packet capture analysis, traffic flow analysis, and statistical analysis.
6. Ability to interpret network performance data and metrics to identify performance issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot network performance issues effectively.
8. Strong understanding of network technologies and infrastructure, including switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, and WAN optimization.
9. Solid knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
11. Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
12. Relevant certifications, such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent, are preferred.
